Moving house sometimes dislodges strange treasures and tidbits. I found this very slim but interestingly illustrated children's book in my collection as I was packing up/unpacking. It's called Spooky Sounds by "Noodles" with pictures by Sam Maitin. Internet sleuthing reveals that Sam Maitin was a Philadelphian artist (died 2004) who was "known for his fresh, vividly colored, exuberant work.

Just finished putting the last coat of lacquer on my "Three Graces" decoupaged hand mirror. Once it cures (2 more weeks!), I'll be putting it up for sale in my Etsy shoppe. I'm pleased with the way this one turned out...the green/silver distressed background works well with the lovely ladies (Africa, Europa, and the Americas, apparently...). Just ordered this "handsomely produced" book, _Departure of the Argonaut_ by one of my all-time favorite authors, Alberto Savinio. Lithographs by Francesco Clemente are profusely scattered throughout, and I'm really looking forward to it.Upcoming reading: _Mount Analogue_ and _A Night of Serious Drinking_ by René Daumal.
